A character from a popular book series died 2,024 years ago. That's all there is to it.

Counting is logical, the problem is that the lunar and solar calendars can't be rationalized together, so it is irrational that the year is 2024, but not illogical.

Obviously. And "today" only exists on Earth. BTW, there are no weekdays and it's certainly not a Tuesday, much less July 9th.
Humans, always delusional. kek

Beyond knowing *generally* what time of the year it is, measuring the passage of time down to the hour, minute and second serves no purposes other than entertainment (athletic stats) and keeping Mr. Noseberg’s books tidy.

I fucking hate "CE" too. It may as well be Communist Era as that's who made up the term.
If your a sandnigger or a communist, why not just pretend AD and BC stand for something else? Lindybeige had it right.

CE and BCE are objectively worse as well, If you're tabulating a set of dates, AD and BC fit into a column two letters wide, better still is if you lose a letter, e.g someone erased an A, you'd still be able to tell which date it is as only AD contains A and D, just as BC contains only B and C.

Built in redundancy and more concise. But no, we need to use faggot units instead.

Meh, if you wabt to run a society, you have to coordinate things somehow. What should not be done is to force people to follow timekeeping against their will. Bossea should fuck off.

Could at least give them some credit if they based it on a new system, but they just took the established system and applied a new name that doesn’t hurt their feelings as much. Same with “Indigenous People’s Day”
