Its a complex mix of genetics (with a bunch of different gene combos involved) alongside childhood nutrition. Were your parents poor or neglected growing up? How tall are your grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc?

Both my parents are tall and I am shorter. Meanwhile my sister is tall for a woman despite having eaten a shit diet for growth while a kid. Such is life.

The taller your parents are, the more likely you will be shorter than them, as heights will distribute towards the mean in a population.

I'm 5'10", my brother is 6'2". My parents definitely didn't feed me properly as a baby.

I know. I should have been a 6'2" chad. For what it's worth I have way fewer joint problems though.

Is your sister taller than you? if yes, how much?

Height is both genetically and environmentally determined. All genes operate in the context of the environment they are expressed in.
You might have genes predisposing you to tallness, but if your adolescent diet is poor and extremely stressful, then you're unlikely to reach your full height potential.

Height has more likelihood to go to the mean than what is determined genetically by your parents or diet.

No, but we are about the same height. We are both around 6'0 along with my mom whereas my dad is much taller.

have you ever heard of the term "genetic lottery"?

The reason why the mother has "more impact," than the father is because men generally grow bigger due to lack of x-chromosomal down regulation.
