According to new study, about 40% of new cancer cases among adults ages 30 and older in the United States — and nearly half of deaths — could be attributed to preventable risk factors.
Modifiable risk factors contributing to the onset and development of cancer:
>cigarette smoking
>second-hand smoke
>excess body weight
>alcohol consumption
>consumption of red and processed meat
>low consumption of fruits and vegetables, dietary fiber, and dietary calcium
>physical inactivity
>ultraviolet radiation
>seven carcinogenic infections (e.g. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection)

>people can and kinda knows more than ever
>actively refuses to follow healthy lifestyles
As isolated anon I fund "funny" the way people 'socializes' self-destructive behaviors. And yet nobody seems to care about that kind of signalling unless there's $$$$ (tobacco)
>people should pay taxes according to their life style

100% of those cases can be attributed to being alive, which is entirely preventable. the final solution to the cancer problem is self-evident.

Second hand smoke isn’t modifiable for some people. Obviously some tiny amount of exposure is inevitable just by going outside, but many people might live with family who smoke and they can’t afford or aren’t old enough to move out, work in a job that has cigarette smoke (casino), etc.
With UV light it often comes from the sun and some amount of sunlight is good for you. With how high myopia rates are I think we need to be advocating for more sunlight, not less. Sunlight exposure often goes in hand with physical activity.
How certain are we that all of the other things cause cancer?

>40%
I honestly expected this to be closer to 60%.
