Why are polar bear populations exploding?
Are we going to have a dangerous overpopulation of polar bears in the future?
What problems is a polar bear infestation likely to result in?

animal populations are always cyclical in boom and famine cycles. Too many bears eat too many seals, bears starve so seals multiply more, it repeats

When they eat all the seals and walruses there will be a boom in the arctic fish and oyster populations.

Does anyone know if they taste similar to other types of bear?

Privileged white bears are indeed a problem. We need more brown bears in the arctic.

Does this boom also happen when they are going extinct?
If so, it reminds me of the history of Jews; 6 million on whom were gassed by Hitler, but -- a year later (still reeling from the holocaust, presumably), somehow managed to takeover Palestine and commit their own genocide; the Nakba, just like they are doing today. Now, that's an unprecedented bounce back. Either that or Climate Change and holohoax are both bunk.

I don't know why the environmentalist retards love polar so much. they're ugly and look cruel. they rape, cannablize their young, eat everything, including humans. for what I know the best solution to the polar bear problem is shoot them all to death.

Anonymous No. 16280867

Polar populations took a tumble as soon as assorted Artic dwelling tribes were able to acquire firearms, which made hunting them much safer. When various government started banning and/or heavily restricting that hunting (starting in 1956 when the Soviets banned it; the US banned it in 1972, Norway 1973, Canada started strict hunting quotas around that time, and so on), polar bear populations started to recover, and have been steadily growing since then.

Increased human settlement in the arctic has also substantially enhanced the amount of forage available for polar bears. It might not look pretty, but those bears like eating trash.

This. You’re not going to have overpopulation of an animal that’s an apex predator, only has a couple babies a year takes 10 years to mature, and lives in a place with large areas of unfragmented habitat. It’s not some catastrophic overpopulation of bears, it’s just the bears reaching their pre-persecution populations now that they’re protected. This would be like saying there’s a plague of humpback whales because their population increased 30% in less than a decade after whaling was banned, even though their population had decreased by 95% before that

Whaling shouldn't be illegal, without whaling the whales become overpopulated and start staving to death. Whale meat is delicious stuff and killing just one is an enormous amount of meat. Gray whales are all over the place on the USA west coast, we should be eating them. If we don't some Chinks will just eventually show up and harvest them all

Black bears subsist on fruits primarily. Polar bears eat meat. The taste would be substantially different and it follows would be more nutrient dense. I would imagine their brains having the highest density of DHA of any other food source. Their livers contain so much vitamin A that eating them is toxic. You're an idiot to offer black bear as a comparison.

>muh stable population numbers
no such thing, population numbers always rise to the point of overpopulation then fall when the food supply or availability of territory can't sustain the population. the idea that stable population numbers are possible are fallacy that only someone completely ignorant of biology could believe in, not only does it ignore the dynamic with food availability, it always ignores the reality of evolution and the dynamic nature of the climate. lemming and their predators are the classic example of this, but its true with every species

It’s literally my major. You’re the one who doesn’t seem to have studied it seeing as you’re trying to pass off that example as an all encompassing rule. The populations in that graph are stable, just because they increase and decrease regularly does not mean they’re unstable. Being unstable would mean they drop or rise and stay there. Not every predator and prey animal exists in such a state of rise and fall either, whales for example have too slow of a breeding cycle for their populations to significantly increase with short lived increases in prey populations. Those boom and bust cycles are generally seen in smaller, faster reproducing animals like the stoats and lemmings in the example. There are also other limiting factors to how much a predator’s population can increase regardless of prey availability, like the presence of competitors preventing unchecked overpopulation

The environment is in better shape than it ever has been before in all of human history because the atmosphere has been enriched with life giving CO2.
The polar bears primary food source eats fish that eat smaller fish which eat smaller fish and this chain ultimately all leads back to creatures that eat plant matter. Adding CO2 to the atmosphere means there is more plant matter for the low end of the food chain to eat.

Its worth pointing out that whites are the only people who would care even slightly about preserving the polar bears even if they were endangered. Eskimos would gleefully hunt polar bears to extinction if they could, they've proved that in the past. Chinese would eat every last polar bear for the amusement of their decadent novelty seeking bougie urbanite classes. Negroes need to be constantly bribed and monitored to not drive all their African endangered species to extinction. Native Americans already drove thousands of species to extinction
