Are there any neuroscience fags here? I have suffered depression/paranoia all my life and have been studying some brain chemistry to understand why. Seems to me that my brain cells have some sort of cortisol receptor imbalance compared to dopamine and serotonin. It seems like either cortisol reuptake is delayed more than that of the other usual neurotransmitters. So i got to thinking that if there was a drug that could simultaneously heighten this reuptake while delaying that of dopamine and serotonin, it could improve my cognition issues which mostly manifest as a delay in making the necessary associations--emotional and thought based--which eventually contribute to my anhedonia and my inability to be productive at any level.

Prion borne diseases are a meme. Prions require direct application to the brain to exhibit pathogenicity in experiments with abnormal protein deamination KO mice . It's likely most of the UK population was exposed to prions yet xCJD remained extraordinarily rare. All of the assumptions made. Researchers taking such precautions do it to generate a scare and increased funding for a niche field. The overwhelming majority of studies fail to exhibit disease when PrP^* is applied directly to genetically fit controls, failures in scrapie and dozens of others. The idea that they are "virtually indestructible" is a redditor point made by someone with no background in organic chemistry since proteins are unstable and and exposure to thermal or chemical conditions will break hydrogen bonds holding the amino acids together.
Whoever made this meme has pop sci rot brain from reddit and podcasts. Zero research experience. Zero publications. I won't mention my credentials (which are extensive) because I'm not a midwit making an appeal to authority. I mention this because people talking about this are ignorant in basic fields of science and only do so because they heard it on a podcast. Every three months I need to deal with undergrads talking to me about LE APOCALYPSE because some bald idiot on a podcast said prions are real heckin bad. Retards, grifters, and apex grifters in acedmia are the problem.
