holy fuck...OP, you just solved the case. Mr. president, get this guy to the white house ASAP

Imagine if quantum gravity renormalization is currently impossible purely because of vacuum fluctuations fucking up space time with their crazy energy distributions in very small timescales. Imagine if we solve it and the quantum gravity theory gives us a way to scale the casimir effect. We rich bois

Engineering problem maybe?
I think sending electric impulses down a casimir corkscrew to resonate it in and out of the critical distance would yield intriguing results

That's 0,2mm, the width of a big hair.

how the fuck would you exploit this for energy generation?
its the tiniest amount of work and once the plates connect theres no more to extract, and you need to put the work back in to separate them
you cant extract energy from static force without it doing work

Indeed, the prefix nano- should be exlusively used to nanometer sized tech.

Phonology has substituted for syntax however, and the english language is increasing based on "muh feels" so you get nano sats being several centimeters long. Just called them centisats whats the issue

You wait until quantum fluctuations push the plates apart slightly again and voila you can harvest the energy once more.

Tl;dr instead of explaining them
>renormalization is hacky math technique (feynman hated it) that allows one to calculate stuff in quantum physics without running into infinities everywhere
>gravity is unfortunately full of infinities regardless when renormalized, probably because shit is chaotic af when you look that deep
>vacuum fluctuations are where particles spontaneously appear and disappear from vacuum, the literal void, their effect is largely negligible except for the casimir effect (OP picrel) and a few other cases like black hole entropy
> >>16301282 thinks this is what's causing quantum gravity to be non-renormalizable, due to the fluctuations fucking up spacetime when things are so small
>then, once a genius figures out quantum gravity we'll learn vacuum fluctuations better, and can scale shit up for the sweet free energy

Why not just do it in the ocean? Get huge plates and set them in the water. Let the gaps of water in between settle so that now there are only waves on the outsides of the plate that pushes the plates closer together. Voila, energy is extracted. Now, pull the plates back apart... wait.

Dude, do you know know Newton's laws? Thinking the Casimir effect would work is like saying why don't we propel our spaceships by throwing a ball backwards but then catching the ball so we can throw it again?
