cold plasma jets are currently seeing rapid adoption in medicine. i anticipate we'll see them become common in agriculture over the next 20 years as a non-chemical/non-radiative means of decontaminating meat and produce. multiple universities and research labs are also working to develop a way for cold plasmas to directly nitrogenize irrigation water as an alternative to ammonia-based fertilizer, which would radically change the agricultural sector.

Metamaterials utilized to direct EM over greater distances, especially if we are going towards like Terrahertz band communications.

Gene editing. We've seen a cure for sickle cell finally emerge that way, and there will be a lot more diseases that happens to over 20 years.

Are there any good books or research papers on plasma jets that you'd recommend for learning about them?

hemp will (should) be grown more. it grows well even in harsh conditions. it can be used to make paper, clothes (etc.), oil (but not for frying) and protein supplements. hemp doesn't require as much water as cotton and it's at least as strong if not stronger material.
CBD derivatives are also very likely a future drug for psychiatric diseases like anxiety, bipolar and schizophrenia (and also autism).

you're a drug addict, the psychological side effects of your drug addiction forces you to see the drug that you're addicted to as the solution to all of life's problems. if you didn't do that then you would be forced to notice the deleterious effects of your drug addiction and you might consider changing your habits and giving up the addiction.

I only posted facts. And there is research into CBD already. And CBD doesn't cause intoxication.
P.S.
Most farmed hemp has only marginal THC levels.
