The book I met so far in every mathematical logic course bibliography is Cori and Lascar one while I personally liked Girard's blindspot

It's neither fun for beginners, nor challenging for intermediates, to read ancient works on logic translated into obnoxious 1800s British English. Furthermore, reading the ancients will reveal nothing of value to anyone who isn't a historian.

I like Gamut's Logic, Language and Meaning
There is also Halmos' Logic as Algebra, but I didnt read it yet
