Damn crazy how having male-only collaborators on a scientific paper can lead you to do great science.

I think the moment CRISPR CAS9 was discovered, at least theoretically, it was clear something like that would be possible. It's basically an organic turing machine.
They just did it and proved it can be done, which is cool but not as big of a breakthrough as the discovery of CRISPR CAS9 itself, and that was a woman.
what did you achieve in academia anon? you're a man right, so you must be successfull right?

So you mean stumbling upon something and reporting on it is more impressive than actually engineering an animated movie into a genome ? You are a delusional and simping I love science cuck

How the fuck is that great science? It's literally s*yence
>we encoded le heckin superhero movie into le bacteria. just like in the hollywood spy movies!
I cannot think of a single useful application of this garbage.

yes because its the equivalent of installing doom on whatever exotic device.
The creation of doom was special, not all those nerds compiling it into specialized hardware.
Btw what have you stumpled upon that was this important?

are you actually sure they haven't furthered the technique of delivery/etc? Or just assuming? To encode a whole movie, you have to be flawless, even at high volume.

reminder that this was always possible and that all pathogens are genetically engineered.

It will be when they encode VLC then mate them.

Get on it, Chemists [cracks whip, throws peanuts, [cracks whip]. THAT is how you do Science©.

I wonder how resistant to mutations/loss of data they could make stuff encoded into genome
imagine encoding equivalent of voyager's 1 golden plate into some extremophile bacteria and sending capsules towards potentially habitable worlds
or if you want to think more dystopian, megacorps encoding their trademark on terraforming organisms, so entire future biosphere of the planet is branded

lol
same as the one behind pic of black hole right
or one with the Apollo code
