๐Ÿงต /SCI/ WIKI TO BE NUKED

Anonymous No. 16322981

Fandom is closing down the wiki because 4chan is le bad

/lit/ noticed their wiki was down and contacted the admins to figure out what happened and managed to get a 24 hour extension

But we only have a few hours to mirror it before it gets wiped.

The /sci/ wiki is complete bullshit.

Almost nobody here talks about science or math.

/sci/ is almost exclusively science themed racism, race politics, anti-vax, saying anyone who doesn't understand (insert topic here which poster doesn't even understand) and IQ.

But I think you are exagerating, because this is or at least used to be one of the lest politiced boards. I can say, however that recently some of the neutral board are slowly getting filled by poltards and retards of all kinds, which is sad because they ruin everything. As I said some of the links like the neuroscience stuff but most of it is more political or historical.
We should just put together a lot of broad lists and pull out what has relevance to /sci/ categories.
The idea is to create something better and updated but we need to compile potential content but we have to categorise effectively.

A guide on how to spot shills and manipulation of the board such as slide threads or obvious attempts at topic dilution.
We're under information warfare we need to give ourselves the tools to create good debates around relevant topics so I don't have to sift through all the crap as much.

I want this board to be useful again and that starts by people giving people ways to identify what makes for a good or bad thread

>the new /sci/ wiki
Which one do you mean, the Installgentoo Wiki or the Google Site wiki? Google dumped the "don't be evil" slogan, so I cannot see how they can be trusted.

Editing that requires signing in to my Google account, which will let Google know way too much about me. When you have to be signed in, even just to read the contents, alarm bells should go off. Google is now evil, unreliable and untrustworthy.
I will be happy to upload more to the Installgentoo Wiki, which is far more open. Also it doesn't required you to be signed in to read the contents, and checking the source, there are no Google tracking there either, also a good thing.

I am travelling now but when I return (tomorrow) I will continue the uploading.

I wonder how many clueless undergrads have been destroyed by this garbage meme chart.

Anonymous No. 16326943

>>16326938
to be fair, most of the chart is just a list of topics. I think those other charts telling you to read 30 art of problem solving books before moving on to calculus are far more destructive

Anonymous No. 16326948

All the charts are terrible. What's worse is they're from a time when /mg/ had still some people who knew how to do math.

I had a look at it, but none of the links seem to work, or do you have copies. Also, isn't this just the version prior to https://archive.is/a0wzy ?

Anonymous No. 16328333

I have a html mirror of the old sci wiki from waybackmachine and i'll back this one up as well with the xml export option. I've been debating on running a wiki for a while. I would run it if anons would be willing to donate to keep it up and running. I'd do all the admin and server stuff for free.

if someone doesn't like the old wiki's content, can you make NEW pages instead of editing these? especially if you want to take stuff from sheafification or theportal or the shitty meme chart that gets spammed here
at most you could add a section in the end titled "alternative lists" or something like that and add links to those other charts/lists

Easily, yes. You can also rename pages, not sure hwo that works.
>especially if you want to take stuff from sheafification or theportal or the shitty meme chart that gets spammed here
>at most you could add a section in the end titled "alternative lists" or something like that and add links to those other charts/lists
the /sci/ page is meant as the hub to link to the rest of /sci/ related stuff (and a category is sert up too), so it is trivial to bring up more pages.
