These days, christian/jewish doctors are usually the ones pushing for circumcision. The best time they have for unrestricted access to an infant is right after birth, when the father is with the recovering mother (or out of the picture entirely). They're more likely to consent to anything deemed medically necessary because they're mentally exhausted. Worst part is, even if they don't consent the doctors usually circumcise the boy anyways.
