What would the effects of transplanting a second heart into your chest cavity, and creating an artery for it, be?
Would this be a useful addition?

It would reduce the pulmonary capacity, it will also increase intrathoracic pressure on top of having a higher demand of oxygen. The output of the right ventricles would increase pressure on the pulmonary artery so much the oncotic pressure at capilaries would not be able to retain water and it would seep into the alveoli. The capilaries themselves may break and bleed but those that don't will have blood flowing so fast it won't pick up any oxygen at all.
In other words you will become hypoxic. You will asphyxiate in many different ways.
