I'm not a man of science so please forgive my ignorance. Why is it that when you drink alcohol you always crave for more? I have read online that it's because alcohol makes you thirsty. And while it's true alcohol makes you crave water you don't actually seek water you end up drinking more booze or beer or whatever. So yeah it makes you thirsty but also makes you seek for more of it. Why is that? I have self control of course I know when to stop but seems like I always want more and more of it. Why is that?

Stimulation of reward system (nucleus accumbens)
It’s short duration (gets shorter as you build enzymatic and neurological tolerance)
Corruption of higher decision making ability (frontal cortex)
Withdrawal from its sedative effects

It’s one of the worst drugs, only thing good about it is the negative reinforcement after a sleep - but even that goes away after a while

It's more natural to be uninhibited than it is to be inhibited. You simply want to feel more in tune with life.
