Dads can put themselves into the shoes of the son, and realize when he's fucking up or missing out on gender specific milestones. But he can't for the daughter. He can only love and protect, but not discipline like the mother.
Reverse applies to the mom and daughter dynamics.

we hold our own gender to a higher standard because we know what it's like, and what's expected of us. it's like how if a retard jerks off in public you can easily forgive them and let it go, but if a person with similar IQ to you does it, you would judge them, question their motives, and possibly want them punished because you know their experience is similar to yours so they should know better.
