Zinc is not, in fact, fun. I tried to forge a piece of zinc-galvanized steel and hurt my lungs. It was pretty much the exact opposite of fun. Zinc can be kind of an asshole.

I welded galvanized steel a few times, just used an SCBA and good ventilation and had 0 issues. Zinc supplements are awesome for immune function. I think the FDA doesn't recommend enough zinc and copper given how many infections are out there.
