I use mostly olive oil and clarified butter (peanut and avocado oil if feeling fancy), but I still have al least one bottle of good old sunflower seed oil in the drawer just in case.
I think the danger is overblown, and a healthy diet that doesn't get old needs variety.

This here; if you compare the typical American's diet of today vs the late 1980s the single biggest calorie change is from being eating more added fats/oils, followed by a modest rise in grain consumption. Every other food group (meat, dairy, fruit, veg, even sugar) has not changed much calorie wise.

Cancer is primarily a metabolic disease, as it is mainly metabolism and diet that palpably affect oxidative stress, which is ultimately the main driver for risk of carcinogenesis, by destroying mitochondria, mtDNA and nDNA at a much increased rate.
It is for this reason that dysfunctional mitochondria have been shown to turn cells cancerous when transplanted into healthy ones. It is also for this reason that cancer mainly affects older people, especially those with metabolic syndrome.
And of course it is established that ketogenic diets massively lower oxidative stress, while increasing GSH and mtGSH count, as well as numerous markers for mitochondrial and metabolic health, outright reversing metabolic syndrome, while even the supposedly healthiest of plant "superfoods" barely impact these markers, as our body treats most plant antioxidants as poison, preventing their absorption, merely receiving some sugars and incomplete nutrient profiles.
Of course this midwit wouldn't be able to tell you this, as he hasn't done any of his own research, simply and blindly eating up the ramblings of mainly university educated nutritionists, almost all of which are of low intelligence and who have failed the entire Western world with their bad advice, which has resulted in multiple health crises and mass casualties in addition to enormous healthcare spending.

>The intervention group had significant reduction in serum cholesterol compared with controls. Kaplan Meier graphs showed no mortality benefit for the intervention group in the full randomized cohort or for any prespecified subgroup. There was a 22% higher risk of death for each 30 mg/dL reduction in serum cholesterol in covariate adjusted Cox regression models. There was no evidence of benefit in the intervention group for coronary atherosclerosis or myocardial infarcts. Systematic review identified five randomized controlled trials for inclusion (n=10808). In meta-analyses, these cholesterol lowering interventions showed no evidence of benefit on mortality from coronary heart disease or all cause mortality.

>Based on the currently available evidence, KD appears to play a significant role in treating various cardio-metabolic diseases and reveals remarkable effects on cardiovascular function. KD therapy is generally promising in obesity, heart failure, and hypertension, though different voices still exist. As for cardiovascular complications of metabolic diseases, current evidence suggests that KD is generally protective to obese related cardiovascular disease (CVD), while remaining contradictory to diabetes and other metabolic disorder related CVDs.
