How good? What type? A lot will depend on circumstance of viewing. I have a 6 inch newtonian with a 25x eyepiece. I managed to see jupitar the other day in good conditions. I could just about see the bands, the spot needs a really good telescope.

This is a really good website for anything Solar system. Check out the other pages too.
Beware that I've noticed these predictions are sometimes off by plus-or-minus half an hour, so set up early.
Transits are also neat, especially those of Io and Europa (most noticeable and frequent). You should be able to resolve their black circular shadows on Jupiter's disk with an 8-inch scope.
