What is /sci/'s thoughts on chapgpt? I decided to take the AI pill and just have it write me a report that I need for my job and just fix the paragraphs and send it to my boss. So far he hasn't said anything about it. I also noticed some seniors in my department with chatgpt tabs in their browser while we do video calls, seems like it's a hidden secret in the deparment.

chat gpt isn't capable of anything productive, if it can do your job for you that just means you have a bullshit job and that's ok, modern society relies on bullshit jobs to keep peoples minds occupied with illusion of worth so their need to be useful doesn't get channeled into socially destabilizing forces

I'll give you that, part of my work is corporate bs, but your comment has some animosity in it.

It does because frankly you are shitting up the board with a thread that may as well be from a bot but unlike a real bot I took the time to respond to you. If it makes you feel any better I have a bullshit job too.

It allows you to write readable junk quickly.
It’s better than google if you just want a fast answer.

Still isnt, and probably never, will replace any jobs, even grunt tier shit.
GPT cant even solve basic programming questions that dont already have answers written online.

i feel it cheapens what it means to be human to value and/or use this garbage

I look down on people who use meme learning to do basic work, which is most people these days sadly. During my bachelor's all my colleagues used it. When I asked them why, their response was "it makes me more productive" or "it's better than google". For the first answer I thought to myself, "you could just not play bibeogames and doomscroll social media for 5x2 hours each day"; while for the second answer all I could think about is that the art of RTFM is dead. Using google and forums was worse, sure, it was a layer of indirection, but using AI is like playing the telephone game.

Imagine not finding enjoyment in the things you do and needing r/india to do it for you. The funniest are the so-called prompt """engineers""". What a joke. I hope that the bubble pops so that, if nothing else, the grifters and undergrads over reliant on AI all collectively shit themselves.
