Mostly I spend my days reading papers or staring at the ceiling with my dick in my hand. Every once in a while I write or review a paper too. None of it actually matters. Honestly it's a pretty miserable and nihilistic experience.

I know what you mean; I am in the same boat for the most part. I reviewed a paper and I agreed to review another. The worst part is that all of them are related to neural networks, a topic that I do not really understand. Next time, if a journal asks me to review a neural network paper, I will just decline it. I am sort of forced to write this proposal, otherwise I will possibly be kicked out of post-doc.
