Particularly, in the current context, "Musk donated $75m to Trump" is a lie. He didn't donate to Trump. He donated it to his America pac organization that uses the money to ask Americans to vote in their interest, regardless of political party. It just happens that Trump is also on American interst party as well.

Falcon 9 is absolutely destroying Airbus's profitable space launch business. Starlink has changed war, making Airbus's military products less viable. They don't even need to seize ownership of SpaceX, they just need it to stop competing with Airbus so they're motivated to try to fine it out of existence, using Musk as a bridge between his companies.

SpaceX is part of Musk's assets which his creditors can place liens on. It's basic antitrust action and the US government has no problem taking it all the way to the Supreme Court to get paid, and the Supreme Court will always pay itself.
Stupid is as stupid does. Musk was dumb to buy twitter in the first place. Having creditors trade their worthless twitter stock for SpaceX and Tesla stock would be an amazing bargain for them.

Nice piece of work, Elon Musth notwithstanding. As for colonizing Mars, I'll consider it plausible when the likes of a Biosphere III proves itself, and can be raised, all 100,000 + tons of it or so, from Earth's level in the sun's gravity well to that of Mars's, with less than 10,000 launches using chemical propellant rockets. Never mind the slender margins of getting to low earth orbit. The only thing more appalling than the math is the politics of such modes of promotion.

>Musk on how the government regulates SpaceX
I got a bunch of nutty stories. SpaceX had to do this study to see if Starship would hit a shark. And I'm like... it's a big ocean. There are a lot of sharks! It’s not impossible, but it’s very unlikely. So we said, 'Fine, we’ll do the analysis. Can you give us the shark data?' They were like, 'No, we can’t give you the shark data.'
Well, then, okay, we’re in a bit of a quandary. How do we solve this shark probability issue? They said, 'Well, we could give it to our western division, but we don’t trust them.' I’m like, 'Am I in a comedy sketch here?!'
Eventually, we got the data and could run the analysis to say, 'Yeah, the sharks are going to be fine.' But they wouldn’t let us proceed with the launch until we did this crazy shark analysis.
Then we thought, 'Okay, now we’re done.' But then they said, 'What about whales?'
When you look at a picture of the Pacific, what percent of the surface area do you see as whale? If Starship did hit a whale, honestly, it’s like the whale had it coming, cause the odds are... so low. It’s like Final Destination: Whale Edition.
And then they said, 'What if the rocket goes underwater, then explodes, and the whales have hearing damage?' This is real!
