Im only going to engineering school for the $100k salary since my dad hooked me up with a job when i get out. I used chatgpt to cheat on all my math classes too

I earned a Computer Engineering degree and later a Software Engineering degree because I found computers to be interesting. The software side of things has turned to complete shit over the years. 95% of the jobs out there are little more than configuring and gluing various libraries together while being harassed daily by HR over some shit that has nothing to do with the company's products. On the hardware side, everything is commoditized, at least on the levels I'm capable of working on. If I were skilled enough to build GPU cores, these might be exciting times.

No. I knew RF Engineering wasn't going to be the most lucrative thing I could possibly do professionally and that to some extent it is dying boomer shit. I did it because I love radios and I knew I could do it for the rest of my life whereas I probably could not have been a doctor for very long.

Pajeets are only a problem if you use braindead AI to cheat, as they do the same. There is still an industry for actually good programmers and engineers especially if you know your shit and communicate and collaborate well, the last two being where jeet coders fail at.

I got a degree in Engineering Technology. Hated it the entire time and passed with D's. Did a few internships that didn't go anywhere, and now I work remotely doing billing & codes & financial assistance referrals for oncology patients. I mostly stuck to the degree because I was the first person in my family to go to college and didn't want to let my family down. If I had a do-over I'd have gone to trade school and become an electrician or HVAC guy.

Basic, but understandable. Just keep in mind that competition varies between the US and countries outside. You don't want to happen to enroll and graduate without any sort of job prospects heading your way or where you want to move to. And always read the Bureau of Labor Statistics report on its job and percentile growth.
In a lot of major cities, a lot of engineering grads seem married to the region of their undergrad institution and aren't willing to move. This means some regions have an oversaturation, and others have a shortage.
Do you have any reason as to why you wanted to pursue ME or did you feel like that was the best field for you?

Why waste the time and money on school? If all you want is to be a worthless nepotism hire at your dad's company, just ask him for something that doesn't require a degree, retard
