How do we know that the eventual theory of everything that contains and explains all effects in the universe follows the rules of mathematics? What if current theories like clasical mechanics, quantum mechanics or relativity just happened to follow the rules of mathematics but that is not necessarily true for the fundamental theory that explains our universe?

what are these "rules of mathematics"? Is it type theory or set theory? Intuitionist or formalist? ZFC or NBG? With or without axiom of choice? There are no "rules of mathematics." Mathematics can deal with any set of rules.

The debasement of meaning has yet another source, the wilful refusal of the
contemporary mathematician to examine the content of certain of his terms, such
as the phrase "there exists". He refuses to distinguish among the different
meanings that might be ascribed to this phrase. Moreover he is vague about what
meaning it has for him. When pressed he is apt to take refuge in formalistics,
declaring that the meaning of the phrase and the statements of which it forms a
part can only be understood in the context of the entire set of assumptions and
techniques at his command. Thus he inverts the natural order, which would be
to develop meaning first, and then to base his assumptions and techniques on the
-3-
rock of meaning. Concern about this debasement of meaning is a principal force
behind constructivism.

The natural order is not to "develop meaning" first. No one knows what anything means. There are 2500 years of philosophy trying to figure out what things mean without any gained ground. The "natural order" is simply to accept blindly what you are taught with any analysis, and then never to question it. Only a deranged subset of the population ever tries to figure out the meaning of anything they do, and they never get anywhere. The reason mathematicians don't "base their assumptions on the rock of meaning" is because doing so is literally not possible.

Maybe the real theory of everything was everything we did and will do to efficiently eject the human race's lifeless bodies on mass into the sucking void.
