🧵 Why do historians and ancient scientists hate him so much?
Anonymous at Wed, 16 Oct 2024 20:06:00 UTC No. 16435092
I mean he's definitely onto something. We know Empires have existed way north of 100,000 years. There are monuments that already existed before the Egyptians and etc. Aztec and Mayan mythology explicitly states things that natural occurrences that were accurate to historical cataclysms, regional or worldwide. China also has something similar the only thing being similar is the "mass flooding" event. It's universally accepted in majority of myths and legends of different human races.

Is slowly becoming mainstream

They give too much importance to irrelevant details, at the same time they forget deception and manipulation are common in competitive environments. Several hundreds of millennia ago humans were already capable of all those great things they attribute to space aliens or other humanoid species.
We know that something nerfed humans right after the bronze age collapse, and that something could be other humans with the desire to have undisputed control over the planet. In such case they are an existential threat to our civilization.

Scientists fear that people like Graham are fueling distrust in academia and that causing public grant funding to decrease. Considering Graham is the most famous archaeologist in America and the most famous physicist is a fedora tipper, they need better marketing.

Well, pretty much that is why he is hated.
Though that is what historians think he is saying, when in reality he is way more rigorous than that, so he never really said it.

I dunno if he pops up again later on in the show, but the formatting of this programme is absurd already. No idea how people can take it seriously. Its like he is trying to be the Carl Sagan or archaeology without the "Dude, weed" element.

The way they try to push back is so rudimentary and shows clear signs of lack of effort/laziness. It gives off the smell that they don't know how to holistically and coherently make arguments against him, and going a bit deeper, that shows signs that archaeologists themselves are bullshitting. They need to appear authoritative, but their arguments and evidence can't back up that appearance, therefore they do the tried and true "he's a racist" argument and distorting facts. The whole things is a shitshow from both sides. The most revealing point by Hancock's work has been in showing incompetency of archaeology

Then you're a dipshit too. Even Joe was pointing out how shaky Graham looked when he was claiming he saw "clear evidence of manmade structures" when diving but somehow just never bothered to take more than two blurry pictures, and all the other shit he was saying. It was a huge change from how supportive Joe normally is of Graham.

No. You're a big boy, you can go look it up yourself. It's not even very far in.
Graham had absolutely nothing of value to say. I used to actually respect him somewhat for at least being interesting, but his arguments were absolutely incoherent and he did every single thing he accused "le mainstream academics" of doing.
>ok you searched millions of sites and never discovered any evidence of what I said b-but have you searched literally the entire planet??? checkmate atheists
>spends ungodly amounts of time and slides complaining about Flint's twitter posts with 14 likes
>claims he visited sites which are clearly man made megaliths
>somehow didn't bother to get more than a handful of blurry pictures, can't even convince Joe Rogan despite being his friend
>accuses Flint of wanting to silence him and not debating facts
>is actually the first to drag the debate away from facts and into personal spats and absolutely braindead arguments
I'm not even going to waste any time pretending to take Graham seriously after that performance.

It is a bit racist saying Brits couldn't have built Stonehenge, mate. Like, I moved a huge plant pot weighing at least a tonne from one end of the patio to the other on my own with a few bits of wood. And I'm not even tall let alone a giant. Let people have pride in their race and don't go around making up nonsense and people won't call you a racist.

People who live in tunnels of any race that made humanity not dwell near each other anymore. The gobleki tepe was a water hole and they built the structure around the hole so they could grab some water, then go out and hunt. This allowed them to build the first civilization because they saved energy on trying to find water.

I'm not even his reader. I guess he speaks of different moments in time at different of his claims (one of his claim is that indiginous people from South America have common genes with asians or polynesians, which people from North America do not have: different geography, thus different episode of the timeline he is trying to reconstruct)

They not only had ships, they also had globes. The Montgolfier were inspired by a demonstration of a device smaller in scale that was banned by the Spanish Inquisition centuries ago. And the idea to build such device came from a man who visited ancient ruins in South America and later moved into Europe to try to get funding to build the device at full scale.
