Could you like make a biological thing that "print" metal things or smt more complicated like a biological laser(the one that use carbon exist) or a biological radio?

maybe, hypothetically, but the ant one sounds like bs. or most likely a misconception. maybe they use magnesium ions as a coordinative cross linker
>rads
cmon

We already CRISPR pigs that poop carbon nanotubes, so that should be easy.

Radiotrophic fungus is a real thing.

1) the fucking word rads
2) what kind of radiation? plants use radiation as an energy source
3) ionizing radiation. radio waves. ionizing radiation wavelength is shorter than visible light
4) that gamma ray radiosynthesis has actually never been proven and only theorized. but yes it should in principle be possible. doesnt have anyting to do with lasers or radios though

I smoke a ton of weed and have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Yes I smoke more weed than you.

maybe a better starting point would be wondering about long distance electron flow. except for the molecular level, electric currents in living organisms are usually ions being moved around. not strictly necessary for a radio, and a laser could even be pumped by plain old chemiluminescence*, but if you envision something more cyborg like with more conventional tech, electron wires would help
*or even directly chemically pumped

Now please consider, that there are people who hear voices, and are lobotomized by medication that atrophies brains. Seems like that's where you could look for biological radio.
I also seen some news about recent "proof" that people exchanged information in dream and it was caught on EEG.

>Radiotrophic fungus is a real thing.
it is purely hypothetical. basically conjecture.

so not a crosslinker, just anorganic material deposited on top, like your tooth enamel. not metallic magnesium of course. question is, what does that have to do with anything?
read the wikipedia article. it says the radiosynthesis is speculative. maybe something to take a closer look at because it should be possible. or maybe they did and didnt find anything

So coukd you make a biological machine assuming you know how to engineer proteines that works metals or a biological radio?

i mean, you are a biological machine that can work metals. you mean deposit metal? probably yes. think gold for example, it is easily reduced
>biological radio
cant think of a reason why it shouldnt be possible
question if it would be easier to make it based on ion or direct electron flow. for electron flow it doesnt necessarily need metal, it could grow wires out of conducting organic polymers, that could be made with enzymes similarly to other biopolymers
conductive organic polymers are long known

there are by the way organisms who can turn metallic mercury into its oxidized forms and vice versa. only in traces, for once because mercury kills the organism. you can also actually get grey skin from deposited silver if you consume large amounts of silver salts for a long period of time. the silver seems to be photochemically reduced inside your skin
