I need to find some blueprints/schematics for a big ass industrial machine. How do i go about it? Is there some repository or database to check? Official website only has a manual that's not helpful at all.

It's probably proprietary, and therefore not public.
They can't have their competitors knowing how their glorious machines work!

Yeah, maybe. I still think a user should be given information on how the basic parts are so they can do the general maintenance.
Is piratebay my best option?

If that's the machine in question, textile machines are usually custom made. Most large scale production machines like that are. Try to find a name plate, maker stamps, labels, serials, any identifying marks on it. Usually if there is a name plate, it'll be placed where fairly visible, but not typically worked around (like an overhead structural beam). From there you should be able to find manuals and catalogues, even if the company no longer exists, but they will be organized for specific parts which can be switched around in differing configurations, sizes, and other specifications.

But I'd download it if I could.

You can't find industrial machines on piratebay very often, but you can find there manual how to make AR-15, and than you can steal the loom like real badass.

I usually send an e-mail to the company or find someone with expertise in maintenance and have a talk with them. But I just deal with injection molding machines, CNCs and lathes.
