These people have really ruined stem youtube, which used to be full of people showing off fun and legitimately cool projects. Take electronics for example. Look up anything related to it and you'll be flooded with 80M views "AMAZING IDEAS" videos where some jeet turns on an LED by soldering it and a resistor to a 9V battery, or "50000W FREE ENERGY GENERATOR 2024" and its just a staionary magnet on a five turn coil.

There used to be a way to avoid seeing those videos: the like/dislike ratio. But YouTube took that tool away because some staffers on the Biden campaign got their feelings hurt when their shit videos were down voted to hell. Since US politics are more important to Google than anything else, the down vote count was hidden and no longer serves as an easy to see indicator of shit content. Scammers love this and the campaign staffers got their feelings protected.
