Bezos has just put another spaceship into service, that can land on its own, while Musk needs those silly chopsticks to catch his.

the landing tower is just much safer, the rocket just plops in place and can take some strain and once the rocket is catch, it stays catch. Its not going to fall from the tower

I think they're using the chopsticks so they don't have to go with crazy materials for the landing pad or having to do concrete work after every other landing.
Thats just the case for the starship because it's so heavy.

Do the chopsticks have padding on them or there is no worry of them damaging the ship or any possible padding would burn?

That's not the point. Everything Musk does is bold if not brazen, elegant, and out of the box. Even if it's just for the heck of it. He wanted the chopsticks and he's done it! Match that, bitches.

Not padding but the portion of the ship that sits on the chopsticks is just plain metal protrusions on the side of the ship. There's not much to be damaged. Maybe after several hundred landings there would be enough gouges and scrapes on the protrusions that they'd need to be replaced. There might be some kind of dampening system in the chopsticks/tower but that's not the same thing as padding.

The election is less than two weeks away. Who would an endorsement by Bezos or his Washington Post mouthpiece convince to change their vote?

The Washington Post influences extremely large numbers of people in Northern Virginia, which is where nearly all the Democrat votes in Virginia come from. All of the federal workers who choose to live in Virginia instead of DC or Maryland because Virginia has lower taxes and fewer negroes are strongly swayed by anything and everything published in The Washington Post, particularly in Fairfax County, which is the wealthiest county in the USA as well as the 2nd most populous. If Virginia's electoral votes go to Donald Trump it will largely be because Bezos instructed the Washington Post not to endorse his opponent.

Who cares about VA. Trump is slated to win PA, GA, AZ, and maybe WI and MI.

sure, but the federal government doesn't live in PA, GA, AZ, or WI and MI, it lives in Virginia. the people who live in Virginia are the ones who call places like PA, GA, AZ, and WI and MI 'flyover states'

The point of doing it how SpaceX does it is it's cheaper. The landing gear doesn't need to be launched up with the ship.

Who the hell is out there thinking of voting for Trump who would change his mind if only the CIA Post endorsed Kamala? Like, literally just describe this fictional creature to me.

If she's worried about Virginia it's hoever already and the only question is how much she loses by.

So a person living say in Richmond, VA looks down on "flyover states"? That would be hilarious.

Richmond, VA is extremely wealthy and snobby, it is the capital of Virginia and all of the state income taxes from the massive amount of federal government employees living in northern Virginia get paid to and spent in Richmond. The average income in northern Virginia is higher than anywhere else in the country, by a good margin & Richmond knows how to skim the maximum amount of that they can without making it less expensive to live in Maryland or DC.
