How far could science go if we removed morally and ethics but were very efficient about it,
So no WW2 japan type shit?

morally and ethics is what makes you human

Do you want us to lie? Because you’re not going to get a very good answer lmao

What you posted is engineering, not science. The only place in science where morality and ethics are relevant is in human biology

If you don’t think human morality and ethics has an effect on all science you’re a fucking moron

what sort of short sighted retardness is that? Moral and ethical is relevent in every branch of science. You can always make nukes and shit or chemical weapons. Or you can also create a new form of energy which you may or may not want to execute irl due to ethical concerns. Or you could invent distant travel to other parts of the universe where ethics would dictate how to transport humans on a long journey and so on.

atheists don't have morality or ethics
>list of important and valuable scientific work done by atheists:
>404 - science not found
all of worthwhile science was done by Christians
they were able to do that because of their Christianity
the scientific method is inherently Christian, it was created by Christians for use by Christians, non-Christians are not capable of executing the scientific method

You're coming from the position of a very common fallacy. The idea of sacrifice and investment is ingrained into us by evolution, maybe so we're psychologically compelled to store grain or something, but it means you inherently believe that sacrificing something valuable must inevitably lead to great results. Therefore, disregarding something as valuable as a human life must have a great payoff, right?
No. The Japs and Nazis had basically nothing to show for the suffering they caused, and in retrospect the lunatics in charge of the labs were probably using science as an excuse to induce suffering. That so many people believe the contrary is another example of the above fallacy

Last time I mentioned that one of the reasons why I never got into Warhammer 40K was the ridiculous, over-the-top armor that made no combat sense and wouldn't work with human proportions. I was told that part of Warhammer is that humans have been genetically modified to be the size of the suits. No idea if that's correct and not going to read a bunch of the ten thousand novels that fandom has shit out but if that's the case, at least it is somewhat science related, especially if they go into the details of how it was done.

Not very far. Most of how science is carried out has little to do with morality and ethics. Except I guess in terms of workplace ethics, but I suspect you aren't talking about making scientists work 80 hour weeks and not giving them sick days.

Like what experiments would you do that you can't do now? How would they be useful?

As far as I know the space marines are genetically modified to be 8ft tall super soldiers with new organs and shit. There are still regular guardsmen who are just normal humans. Though I'm not a wh40k fan either.

Probably could have discovered a cure to a good number of diseases by intentionally infecting and force-feeding experimental drugs to prisoners, homeless people, and Canadians like we were doing in the 60's. If I were to ballpark it, I'd say about 20 years ahead in biological sciences and genetic engineering. We probably wouldn't progress much faster than we do now for other fields.
