The biggest ruiner of white male lives (numerically) is opioids. For every guy who has had his life ruined by something else there are a hundred whove been ruined by opioids. The numbers are staggering.

I was one of the lucky few that were able to keep mine with Minoxidil as I noticed it thinning. So, I can run with min for as long as I need until AI develops a way to cure it for good. Sorry maldies :/

Cancer is actually a bunch of different diseases all under one name.
Normal cells grow and multiply as necessary to replace old cells or to perform their function.
Sometimes, damaged/mutated cells will start multiplying when they shouldn't. If this is self contained (doesn't spread), it's considered a benign tumor. When it does spread to nearby tissues, it's considered cancer.
Most of the time your immune system can detect and remove defective cells. The problem arises when the cancer cells develop defense mechanisms against your immune system. This can come in many different forms, for example producing a protein that tells white blood cells to kill themselves, or disguising themselves as healthy cells.
Because cancer can happen in so many tissues, and because the cause of cancer cells is different in every case, it's very hard to develop a solution to kill cancer cells without killing healthy cells.
With radiation therapy (damages DNA with high energy radiation), chemotherapy (drugs that prevent cells from reproducing), etc. you just have to hope that the cancer dies faster than you do.

I know close to nothing about chemotherapy but modern radiotherapy has became prey good
with modern techniques you can effectively treat even tumors in highly mobile regions like diaphragm or heart
it has to be the kind of cancer that responds well to radiotherapy (because not all do) tho and if it alredy spread then yeah radiotherapy is much less than optimal
