🧵 Where does physics take a wrong turn?

Based on this paper, QED is wrong: https://vixra.org/pdf/2002.0011v1.p
>Quantum electrodynamics (QED) is considered the most accurate theory in the history of science. However, this precision is based on a single experimental value: the
anomalous magnetic moment of the electron (g-factor). An examination of QED history
reveals that this value was obtained using illegitimate mathematical traps, manipulations and tricks. These traps included the fraud of Kroll & Karplus, who acknowledged
that they lied in their presentation of the most relevant calculation in QED history.
As we will demonstrate in this paper, the Kroll & Karplus scandal was not a unique
event. Instead, the scandal represented the fraudulent manner in which physics has been
conducted from the creation of QED through today.

What do you think of the rest of field theories?

That's just wrong. Aside from all the scattering experiments, off the top of my head you also have Hyperfine splitting

What ramblings, the OP was very specific. QED and QFT were built from patchwork and guessing. This is/was very well established as these theories don’t hold without renormalization of infinities and other gimmicks.

classical mech can model blocks on incline planes fine, coulomb’s law can model electromagnetic phenomena just fine and QM can model the hydrogen atom just fine. no field theory needed and when physics adopted fields and began treating them as real objects instead of mathematical abstractions, it was at that point that physics went astray and i’m tired of pretending otherwise.

>physics adopted fields
When the light from a distant star kisses your eye, was it a solitary bound object projectile like thing that traveled from the star to you, as a baseball travels from pitchers hand to across home plate?
Physicists believe they came to the conclusion that nature does not work like this, so the idea of field is that all of space is full of aether, and charges in the distant star are shaking and vibrating, which shake and vibrate the local lumiferious aether, which take light speed light years until the aether right in front of your eyes finally shake.
One of the reasons this is concluded is the conceptual unliklihood of a star happening to throw light balls at the same speed everytime, whereas such same speed effects are seen in medial materials such as speed of sound in air

>so the idea of field is that all of space is full of aether
this just helps calculations, there is no reason to believe fields exist and there exist no instruments to measure them, we measure their underlying effects. if this seems trivial, ask yourselves does something exist if I can't measure it?

Quantum electro-dynamics is enough of a mouth full that I never bothered to actually learn anything about it (despite having enough of a math background from the control side of EE that I could probably take a whack at it if I really needed to). No idea what new flavor of the month paradigm will fix the shortcomings of QED/QFT (which I certainly don't understand) but it will also probably have as many problems that someone else will have to fix down the line.

Oh you sweet summer child. QFT is like nothing you have encountered before.

I don't see any relevance to quantum electrodynamics. This just isn't important to my life.
