"God" was scientifically discovered by humans who anthropomorphized the phenomena that sacrifice and morality paid off. Saving grain even though you're hungry would fill your field the next year, and helping your neighbor at your expense meant he may help you later. Striving towards the divine ideal is a logarithm, you can get close but never reach it. Does this mean the divine ideal is fictional? It doesn't matter. A reality where God lives in the hearts of man is better in all metrics. By all practical truths, where God is meant to apply, God is real. Therefore "God" is "real". Discovered scientifically, proven scientifically.
>hurr durr there's no man in the sky
fuck off retard

Many things that were once ascribed to God have been re-explained by science, or more purely: They have been shown to have non-God explanations, that you can observe for yourself.
When you put your food in the microwave and it comes out heated, do you ascribe it to God because you cannot physically see the radiation? How a microwave works is by no means obvious, it requries a scientific understanding of molecules, magnetism, etc. To actually observe it in its true manner requires complex scientific measuring equipment which requires further understanding to understand and produce.
But it is always observable, measurable, and conclusively explainable in terms of the laws of physics, which are also explainable without the need of divine intervention.
God is no longer the obvious explanation to things, science is. Science is not a belief system, it is empiricism. Science does not expect people to believe anything, it invites people to see what is undeniably true beyond all question.

Theists love to move the goalposts
>God is a man in the sky
Man has flown up into the sky and cannot see this man
>God is the sun
Man has observed the sun with telescopes and can see it is no god
>God is the abstract notion of perfection, he is impossible to see
It was once believed to be impossible to observe the heavens, today we can travel amongst them.
It was once believed to be impossible to predict the weather but we get better at that all the time, our lacking is a lack of computing power, not understanding.
Soon we will be able to understand the nature of reality itself and the theists will have no more room to hide their god

considering the number of holy books citations, it must be rated as highly probable

I have read several religious texts including the bible. Stop being disingenious, Most religions believe their gods to be either the Sun, the stars, literal men in the sky, men under the earth, and when they give up all of these, they just make him invisible

No it cant be proven. Humans must become god, we must accelerate to our god like technological singularity. God is dead, and we shall revive him in our image.

>Can the existence of God be proven/disproven?
No, there is no way to establish certainty either direction, mostly because of this:
>>16452001
>define god unambiguously
If you examine the "arguments" of God-haters, they use a straw-man fallacy to define God in a way that is easy to disprove. See these, for example:

Many studies have shown that all humans are religious, whether they can admit it or not. See picrel, for example.
Atheists are actually just God-haters, usually angry because God told them not to stick things up their asses or rape kids or something else that is deeply important to them and they don't want to give up.
That doesn't prove God is real, only that we all believe in God. Maybe it's just because we naturally anthropomorphize things.
The more offended someone gets when you point this out, the more deep their denial.
I expect this post will trigger a lot of snowflakes, and they will try to cope with their rage by pretending to be amused or intellectually superior or whatever gets them through the dissonance I have caused in their pet worldview.

God exists and doesn't exist at the same time.
