You have an extremely simplistic pop sci understanding of science and the relationship between fundamental research in math and physics and applied research in the biomedical sciences, engineering, and other fields. Also, you're probably going to need to address systemic issues like the replication crisis before any other major breakthroughs in the sciences can be achieved. Pop sci faggots should stay off this board, and stick to simping for Ukraine and Israel on pol.

No, you're not. The role of meta-analysis in scientific work is overrated af. And academia is not the only way to make science.
I would even recommend to stay away from it, if one can afford to pursue scientific goals without being robbed of time and energy by teaching duties and administrative melodrama.
