Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, formerly America's #1 high school for science education, has plummeted in the ranking since adopting a DEI policy.
And of course TJ is no exception, it seems to be the rule that wherever DEI policies are adopted, intellectual achievement soon disappears.
Has the scientific investigated this ever more common sequence of events negatively impacting many important institutions? Has cause and effect been identified and is their a means to correct the problem?
In the case of TJ, firing the school's chief executive isn't going to change the policies which lead to the decreased quality of the academics, thats just scapegoating.

Blacks and Hispanics drag down the average but overall 1/3 of the american economy would disappear if nonwhites disappeared.

Isn't it an amazing coincidence that the (formerly) best school in the country just happens to be in the same county that all the federal government employees live in. They all get to sent their kids to the (formerly) best school in the country for free and in any other region of the country you have pay tens of thousands of dollars a year to send your kids to a private school to get an equivalent education. I'm totally sure that all of those completely honest and trustworthy government employees are paying for their super fancy public school out of their own pockets and not robbing the taxpayers from the rest of the country blind to pay for it instead

I got into TJ, but I turned them down and that was one of the main reasons, the few girls there are all ugly. DEI for sure isn't going to fix that, will only make it worse.
The other thing wrong with it was the commute, sitting on a bus for 2-3 hours a day isn't conducive to learning.

TJ application acceptance rate has gone from 14% to over 21% since they started doing affirmative action acceptances, but enrollment has not changed, so they're getting few and few applications as a result of the policy change, the smart and competitive kids don't want to go there anymore, the school has lost its appeal by making it easier to get into. You can go to any Fairfax county high school and Ivies will still accept you at the same rate they do with TJ students.
