๐Ÿงต Did Dyatlov do anything wrong? Like at All

Anonymous No. 16457704

The operators were completely innocent in 1986 and the reactor exploded because it was a soviet designed reactor managed by bureaucrats with a low budget. The scientists and operators themselves were component.
The Vienna conference is a lie and Dyatlov and the crew should be saintified by orthodox churches of ukraine and russia
HBO series and its consequences have been a disaster for Researching into the Chernobyl disaster

the chernobyl techs were dumb because they had been running that reactor in a low power mode, which caused it to build up an excess of xenon-135. then they were too stupid to understand why the power output remained very low when they cranked it up (neutrons were being absorbed by xenon instead of uranium). eventually the xenon burned off and BOOM.

I don't use the word "hero" lightly, but Dyatlov was the greatest hero in the history of the Soviet Union

Absolutely true. HBO's treatment of Dyatlov is perhaps the most shameful incident in media history.

Anonymous No. 16462787

The most fascinating thing about Chernobyl is the Soviet Union never even alerted neighboring countries that there was a reactor meltdown (Germany and Sweden just happened to detect the radiological fallout that was clearly from a reactor core).
The USSR never even paid a single nickel to reimburse neighboring European countries that were hit by continuous clouds of radioactive fallout until it was finally encased in a sarcophagus.
How did they get away with it?

The question is why does he have so many apologists? Because he was portrayed as le cool smoking asshole meme man on HBO?

Operators are not engineers, and cannot be expected to fill the responsibility of an engineer.

Anonymous No. 16467819

>>16467804
you don't need to be an engineer to follow the rule that a reactor can't be restarted within 60 hours of shutdown so the xenon has time to decay. plenty of other reactor operators all over the world followed this rule.
