Leonard Susskind, a founding father of string theory, argues we live in deSitter space, not Anti-deSitter space. he says the AdS/CFT mathematics does not describe the reality in live in. stringfags completely and utterly and permanently BTFO

If you knew anything about the subject you would know that it gives huge insight into strongly coupled QFTs so it has physical interest and you should cope harder. And yes, part the research in the field is dedicated to find stable AdS vaccua etc.

susskind is smarter than you on this topic and he says the opposite. he's won the dirac medal. what have you won and why should i take you seriously?

Has science estimated the absolute limit of possible micro imaging? I remember first seeing electron scanning microscopes unbelievable, and then other crazy atom imaging techniques, and then particle collision attempts, but does it seem like a strong wall limit, like never seeing clearly into a proton, never capturing ''''''photographic"" evidence of quarks?

AI does come to mind, to ask it to provide detailed images and super slo mo videos of according to all best experiments and theory and observation, the ways in which it determines the physicalities of the most micro world must be

Not him, but you are twisting Susskind's words here. I watched the first 8 min of the video and he doesn't say AdS/CFT is bullshit. He says we don't live in AdS space, so the quantum gravity side of the AdS/CFT correspondence doesn't fully apply to our world. Many people think it is a useful toy model but apparently Susskind is working on de Sitter quantum gravity (which sounds good too) so yes of course he will promote his work in this podcast.

Now what the post you are replying to is talking about is the other side of the correspondence which is a strongly coupled QFT which is something that does exist in our world. You can use a classical theory of gravity in AdS to get information about a quantum theory on the boundary. That is mathematically correct and potentially useful.

Everyone has always known our universe was not AdS. They study the AdS/CFT correspondence anyway because it is still extremely insightful.
