Anonymous at Sat, 2 Nov 2024 09:18:59 UTC No. 16459471
there have been hurricanes in england and germany
they originate in west africa and turn towards the caribbean area but sometimes go to canada. And then to europe
But this hurricane wasnt one of those wasnt it? You can track them as they move over water

lamo there has never been a hurricane in germany lol what, we had storms like kyrill but for sure no hurricane.
north sea never gets warmer than 19°C so tropical storms can not form.
hurricanes can make it to spain but will lose lots of power to even get there.
tropical stromsystems can develop in the mediterain, so called medicanes, but they are nothing compared to thaiphoon, zyclons and hurricanes.
we do have storms and heavy rain, but hurricanes are tropical storms and we don't have those and mediticans can start to develop but the desintegrate in less 3 days because there is not enough warm water to feed it and there also is not enough space

Spaniard here. People there just built the third largest city of Spain on a flood plain at sea level. Then the flood came like it does millions of times in the geological scale, but us humans are generally too dumb to abstract ourselves to such things. Most of that used to be orchards and fields, so when it flooded in the past it wasn't such a deal.

To be fair, getting a years worth of rainfall in 8 hours isn't going to be a good thing no matter where you are in the world.

While you can never say any particular event is due to climate change, such events will happen more frequently. But you don't seem like a person who cares about facts and nuanced discussion.

climate is changing and eventually climate zones will move around, its all Sun and space fault(mostly)

Remnants of tripical storms reaching the North Sea can regain some strength when they meet cold air. We have had some serious storms in Norway. One example:

Not that difficult to find, it's official meteorological statistics.
No one is doing the job for you, and it would be pointless anyway because people like you would just come up with an excuse to dismiss it.

on tv they said it's due to global warming: ''as the air is hotter due to global warming, it contains more water and so when it rains it rains more heavily'', this is verbatim what they said

This simple and unambiguous relationship is exactly why Sahara is a continuous rainfall. No, wait...

> the air is hotter due to global warming, it contains more water
Generally speaking that is true as it would increase the average rainfall across the world, but what ever tv you were watching was grossly misapplying that fact. You can't ever say that was the reason for any specific event or its severity. This flooding could be 1% climate change, 99% shit happens, or the complete opposite (or much more likely something in between). However we have no way of knowing precisely.

It's just rain. All we see is Spanish excellence at its best.
