What is "purpose?"
How does it emerge from unconscious matter?

terms like "conscious" and "unconscious" are part of pscyhology and not science.

purposeless entropy is everywhere though.
I like how you can look at a paramecium (a one-celled animal) and think, wow, it eats food and poops just like me

>What is "purpose?"
Good question, how is it defined, by who?

Think of consciousness as a two headed dragon. One head is able to detect itself. It sees another head, its body, its mass, its surroundings. It is conscious. The other head, identical in mass, shape, matter, cannot sense itself. It is conscious as a piece of wood. Both part of the same body, the conscious head of the dragon starts blowing red hot fire onto the catatonic head. It shrieks in pain. But it fears no death. The fire breathing dragon head senses pain and fears death. But it doesn't stop. It must continue and will continue to do so. The dead dragon does nothing but shrieks in pain. Eventually the two headed kills itself. One head feared death and continued towards inevitable end. The other had no say in the matter. To have purpose is to fear death.
I call this the "Two Headed Dragon Suicide Hypothesis"

What is "unconscious matter"? How does it emerge from vacuum? Do you have any proof of this "matter" being there, besides abstract notions extrapolated from subjective impressions?

Imagine not knowing what basic words like "purpose" mean. Imagine also not understanding how language works and asking to see the manager of the definitions department to demand an explanation of how they circumvent the infinite regression problem with basic building-block concepts.

Matter is just patterns of energy that got stuck on certain thresholds that neither their current physical conditions nor random entropy can easily overcome.
Stars are an example of just how difficult this is, even stellar conditions only make fusion reactions happen very slowly.

>What is "purpose?"
Possibility, and the assessment of possibility, and judgement of uses, and the judgement of benefit of uses.
Humans utilize a lot of things of nature for their benefit, apples from apple trees, grapes from grape vines, rubber from rubber trees, iron and bronze and copper from the ground.
What is the purpose of an apple, what are its possible uses, apple juice, apple pie, apple fritter, apple crisp, candy apple, throwing into a splash against a tree.

Male.
There is no purpose, other than to have your own premeditated purpose day in day out. Purpose IS purpose.

Cells begin replicating, start consuming one another, develop neurological structures, pain signals, hunger, motivation, abstract thought, more complex desires, gratification for satisfying them, forms into purpose to live.

Human purpose is different than animal purpose, as humans have many more options and opportunities than animals, in this way humans take time to find out for themselves and the world what their purpose might be, they are predisposed to have certain abilities and aptitudes, but without seeking, trying, exploring, how can they possibly know what they are capable of, what their purposes might be
