What would the consequences be for the Middle East on a climate, biological, and so on level if the Arab peninsula was afforested by the Saudis? I know there are some places like the Sahara who are essential for other parts of the globe because it has so much sand that's transported around the world by winds. Would turning the Arab peninsula into verdant grassland have a negative effect on anything nearby?

Its not completely artificial, plants require less moisture to grow in higher CO2 environments, plants stomata gape in proportion to the amount of CO2 in the air, the less CO2 the wide the gape and they lose water through the stomata, more water is lost at the lower CO2 percentages because of this. plants in low CO2 atmosphere are gasping for air like humans do at high altitudes that they're not accustomed too. greenhouse farmers supplement their atmospheres with additional CO2 just like mountain climbers use oxygen bottles at the highest elevations and for pretty much the same reasons.
