>get a minor tear and it will never heal and cause pain for the rest of your life
Why is the human body such poorly designed shit?

>cut your foreskin accidently off and it'll never regrow
yea why are bodies like that

The selection pressures that once kept our bodies strong and resilient have been impeded by pastoral societies that removed the need to stay fit by providing the capability to farm food, and harvest it in a single place. Over a long enough period of time, couple that with a whole lot of in breeding, medicine to stave off issues that would have otherwise killed themselves off, and you obtain the modern man.
People keep bitching about being gluten intolerant or needing glasses whereas natural selection would have swiped them off the genetic grid long enough before they existed, were it not for technology.
In short, technological progress acted like a crutch for the human species while it stacked dysgenic properties through monogamy during the past eras.

None of that explains why a vital body part isn't able to heal. If you cut your skin or any other organ, it heals completely in a matter of days.

The human body is not adapted to sports. All these football/baseball/tennis etc. players you see are living lives very different from what our ancestors were adapted to. Yes, even Africans did not live like that.
So essentially most athletes are held together with the medical equivalent of ductape.

>*cuts off your head*
>omg why can't you just grow a new one lol
Idiot. Also your meniscus can heal, it just gets replaced with scar tissue which isn't as good at performing its job, but still functional.
Also some animals in nature can grow back their heads, but these tend to be highly neotenous, like axolotls.

You could not design something better in literally a trillion years
Moreover, humanity likely could not design something better in countless millions of years if we started from scratch and were not allowed to reference any current biological understanding.

The great question of our time is will continuing down the path of technological advancement only accelerate the enfeeblement or should we keep doubling down in hopes of the fully automated post-scarcity dreamworld the social architect promise us?
In theory, I don't know. But practically within the next few decades I can only foresee more exacerbation and very few real prospects for breakthrough, paradigm shifting developments to right our unstable systems of production, consumption, and organization unless humanity can first recognize dysgenics and cultural decay as a real, causal source of problems.

>omg why aren't humans immortal wolverine healing killing machines??!!!!
Because we are only the way we are cause of adaptation and the environment around us? Nature only cares that you survive long enough to reproduce not become terminator

scar tissue (cirrhosis) is less flexible than regular tissue
