🧵 Why does /sci/ have a schitzo problem?

Anonymous No. 16471727

Some of the schitzos here seem to have a decent grasp of complex topics, they've just veered off into insane conclusions. Makes me think they're probably pretty smart, with university backgrounds, which then makes me wonder how they ended up crazy.
Do you think gaining a high level understanding of mathematics can lead some people to lose touch with the world?

The downside of open platform like 4chan is that it attracts high numbers of schizos and bots and there isn't anything that can really be done about it. Since there's no account creation bans are very ephemeral and easily bypassed and even attempting to ban the schizos will ultimately hurt the regular uses way more than a jeet who gets paid in bobinas for posting yet another slide thread or -500 IQ off meds poster who spends 19h a day posting garbage. You report and you hide the thread and you move on or you move to somewhere else like reddit.

4chan attract(s/ed) smart young schizoids. Smart schizoids mostly go into lonely high-level intellectual pursuits as a job/hobby. A large chunk of those schizoids gain some serious obstinance, malice, and/or schizophrenia by their 30s.

Newfags do not know this but /sci/ was one of the most censored boards on the site. It started off completely free, then by around 2011 the board got filled up with race realism threads as expected and a rëdditor marxist mod was installed to sanitize it and keep /pol/ back to /pol/. He didn't stop at just /pol/-posting though, he banned literally everything that he could. Questioning the climate agenda would result in a 3 day ban and you'd get banned within 5 minutes of making the post, whether as a thread or inside a thread.

So anyway, what I'm trying to say is that schizoposting was forbidden and suppressed by the autistic tranny mod. Here's the interesting part: the board died. There were putnam threads and all these sorts of attempts at making it a higher quality community, but no one participated in them, because there was no reason to post on rëddit when you could just go to literally rëddit. Browsing /sci/ became a Panopticon-ized chore and discussion gradually outflowed to /g/ and /lit/. This board should've been the place with the AI generals and the jeet image memes and all that, instead it's mostly /g/ and /pol/ thanks to the extreme censorship and botched attempt at making r3ddit on 4chan.

The mod was obviously expelled after quite a bit of whining on /qa/, but the damage was already done. The natural free speech evolution where the system would've evolved its own means of telling the schizos to kys never actually evolved them due to the mod babysitting the discussion, and as the board is too dead to evolve such a thing anymore, we're just perpetually stuck in a Qanon type of a limbo. The schizos came back to do their schizo thing but there's no one to tell them to fuck off anymore and such emergent mechanisms only exist on boards whose volume allow for their emergence, like /pol/, which successfully detoxed from the Qanon schizos without ever having to intervene and rëdditify itself centrally.

I got given three day hammers twice for saying that Leidos was unlikely to be selected for the Moon lander because they focused too much on showy displays of DEI (don't think that was the term back then, probably just said "diversity") instead of doing the required work like SpaceX was. Funny that SpaceX ended up winning that contract and Leidos lost. Guess suppressing uncomfortable truths here doesn't have much impact on the real world.
Seems like around that time there were a lot of junk threads allowed:
>Why'd he do it?
>Is it really true 1 = 0.999...
>This is what a scientist looks like (with variants)
>>16471727
OP, don't you get tired of making these "hello fellow kids" thread? It's obvious why you posted this and what you think you'll get out it. Not sure why you keep at it since it's obvious that the duration of the boost you get from these threads is very small, probably a bit shorter each time you do it.

Are you dumb? Or are you a schizo yourself?.

Most people here read pop sci articles or watch YouTube science channels and think they know how things work. Most here are highly uninformed.

The ones that are informed often just lurk here. Commenting only when necessary and not getting involved In crackpot discussion.

4chan is pure ignorance. You'll find more intelligent people on reddit. However I love the ignorance because it's fun.

Schizophrenia is a disorder of hyper pattern recognition. They’re drawn to math because of this because of its nature and combined with paranoia they often think there’s illusions to higher vague answers

Schizophrenia is the 2nd worst mental illness, only BPD is worse (not bipolar, borderline).

I have paranoid schizophrenia and I see patterns in almost everything. It's how I caught my last two ex's cheating on me, I could just recognize patterns in their behavior that seemed off and made me go digging through their social media to see who it might be. I turned out to be right both times. The worst part about schizophrenia is that it's like ADHD mixed with dementia. You'll go off on one topic, pick up a pattern that brings up tangent subject and you completely forget about what you were originally talking about in the first place. This makes focusing on any one task nearly impossible. I'll be looking for reference for a painting and then see something and think "wait, that's exactly like something I saw 3 days ago in the same context" and do a deep dive into trying to figure out what it could mean.

2 days ago I saw pic related posted on 4 different sites. It's not the first time it's happened. It seems like one a month (around the 10th-16th) my internet browsing will be filled of images of people making this gesture. Every month, just one day up to 6 images at a time. It makes me believe that people are watching me and this is a reminder to them to be quiet so I don't figure it out. either I'm paranoid, this is a major coincidence that happens repeatedly over and over, or It really is happening to me. It's not just images, but songs that will start off with "you better be quiet" or end with "no squellin' cus remember it's all in your head."

And no I don't believe in jewish conspiracy theories or shit like 9/11 or the moon landings. Those don't make an sense and there are no patterns behind them.

Schizos want to yell at scientists. This place used to have some (though mostly grad students) scientists. So schizos came here to yell at us.
Scienec nerds are not really wellcome anywhere, and this place is no exception. It's no different from highschool or any campus with non STEM fields, and even STEM has normies nowadays who turn it into a 9 to 5.
But the retards, schizos, and normies can't ruin science, nothing can. We'll keep on doing our fun shit, all of you can get fucked.

This. God, i hate the popsci fags who watch that on german bitch and think they are part of a scientific revolution. Nigger, you barely finished highschool, watching youtube doesn't make up for a decade or two of intense study and work. Kill yourselfe.
Similarly, if you watch niel red or explosions and fire and you copied some basic bitch chem projects, you are not a scientist.
And even worse, if you are a lefty and say so "trust the science"... kill. Your. Slefe.

I used to respond to the threads that touch on my research. You may have seen me posting, always starting with the sentance "I'm a junior memeber of a team working on the molecular mechanisms of the ageing process". But i stopped responding, because instead of talking to other researchers, students or even curious layman, i got schizos telling me cadmium is the key to immortality.

I don't think that many people with a high level of understanding of mathematics lurk here. Most real scientists stopped lurking.
