I don't think you'll find science on this. I can make a guess though (but it's only a guess, so take it with the appropriate truckload of salt). Generally, white guys (like myself) are not that attracted to black women or black culture generally. I'd say the same is probably true the other way, but I don't know enough to be certain.

When you do have white guys that seek out black women, and black women that seek out white men, they already have a clear sense of what they are looking for in a partner and find someone that fits that very clearly. It also generally seems to be the case that white guys and black women are both less promiscuous and culturally sexualized than the other combinations (white women and black men).

Not entirely sure though.

From my experience as a white guy I've had more success with black women by far than any other race. A very significant proportion of black women are open to dating white guys and they generally aren't too shy about flirting so you know if they're into you.

It's almost always economic factors. There aren't that many white guys into black women, and white men tend to earn more than black men, so for the black woman finding a white guy willing to marry her is a good deal for them. Women tend to be the ones to abandon marriages so if they are unlikely to improve their situation by leaving then they'll probably stay.

Literally at opposite ends of desireable-ness AND both are outliers in that regard.
