Why are Chemistry and Environmental science so much more concerned about DEI than other fields?
Seems nonintuative that they would outscore social sciences by such a large margin

Donโ€™t know about chem, but env sci is the gender studies of STEM. So no surprises here.

If you square these data with the fraction of women in the discipline you'll see a correlation. Not a perfect one, but a strong one.

then why does humanities and liberal arts have one of the lowest scores.
and how come astronomy isn't at the top of the list, its about the girliest science there is

-Chemistry and Environmental Science have a higher share of women
-Environmental Science attracts people that have more progressive ideals the same way petrochemical engineering attracts sick bastards
-Chemistry is maybe the only scientifc field, even beating physics, that truly had to reckon with the destructive consequences of its research. Every chemist I know, at least those that did a course on Toxicology had some lessons on the history and fallout of chemical weapons. Physics students really don't really learn that much about the consequences and dangers of nuclear weapons the same way for example
