He is very informal, which has its pros and cons. The videos are very good as introductory material, but don’t expect to fully grasp the subject from them. That’s what books are for. IMO it’s the best way to lecture desu. I have never paid attention to grad courses where the professor just spends 1-2 hours copypasting the book on the board. A lecture is supposed to give you a coherent but informal explanation of the subject before you fully dive into it with books and exercises.
