Sometimes we do.
The environment would probably be a lot more receptive to us if we actively did it *more*, but some attempts have been made. We're not total ingrates.

You have been paying it back with poop and trash your whole life. But what you poop and throw away can be good or bad. Sadly a lot of trash especially diapers are not biodegradable. The only thing we owe the planet is whatever we decide because it's an object but you'd think we'd think we owe it to ourselves to not completely destroy it.
