Decimal time would be superior to the primitive 60 based time format in every single way.

No, but metric time, along with everything else metric, would be great after switching to base twelve. Base ten is a terrible choice but we're stuck with it. As a cope, we can use base twelve in certain applications like time keeping.

100 seconds in a minute, 100 minutes in an hour, and 10 hours in a day
leads to 100,000 seconds in a day, close to the current 86,400
Either change the definition of a second by ~15%, or lift huge amounts of material to slow the rotation of the earth by around 15%
I prefer the "slow the rotation of the earth" option, but either will be fine

No matter what system you come up with, you're still stuck with the number of days in a year being ~365.242.

OK, this madman does have a solution to the days in a year problem but the implementation details are going to be a bit annoying.
