Is this technology better for human eyes than regular screens?

E-ink is great but the company that owns the patents are a bunch of faggot retards who refuse to license the technology appropriately so almost nothing gets to use it.

Yep. Yet another case of government ruining things for everyone.

E-Ink is perfect for digital signage, like changeable price tags on shelves or thermostats, anything that displays constantly since there's no burn in or burn out.

E-ink is pretty glorious for very slowly changing things. It's complete ass for videos, getting the refresh rates high enough is really tough given the nature of the tech.

is it impossible to have e-ink without any screen at all? even anti glare screens bother me

What do you mean by no screen at all? Do you mean no layer on top of the capsule layer? If so, then yes. A black-and-white e-ink with no front light will have no layer on top of the capsule layer.
I'm curious what zoomers like you think "screen" means.

Yes, it is much better on the eyes/brain.

I've been using my e-reader for years and I've never felt any eyestrain from using them

About half their patents have already expired, so anyone can use the basic technology here. Also I see that they have not had any new applications published since 2017, which is a bad sign.

Sorry, that was a database lookup mistake, they have plenty of new applications going, increasingly so.
Still, the fundamental tech should now be freely available since a patent lasts up to 20 years.
