Materialists (by which I mean physicalists, computational materialists, nihilists, post modernists, and determinists) have nothing to fall back on when faced with the suffering, cruelty and unfairness of reality, so it mind breaks them, it basically ass rapes them into cynics or pessimists.
They call religion cope you know, and it basically is, outside zealot abrahamicas and hindoos, religious people are happier and deal with setbacks better. No one seems to look at this fact.

So this begs the question why havent atheists created an atheist religion and i dont mean joke one like FSM or pink unicorn, or ideologies people treated like a religion (eg: communism, but father one that fufils the emotional needs of people. Because lets be real, NO ONE turns to religion because theyre trying to get shitty awnsers to how material processes work (which is what fedora types think is the reason people turn to religion, No its because people want something to deal with suffering, and death. Atheism does nothing to address this, at all. Thus is doomed to fail until it does.
