When I was a kid, I used to read all this pop science nonsense, that you can get at an airport book store like Yuval Noah Harari or Stephen Hawking. I feel bad for having read those and if I were truly smart, I would have probably read actual in-depth books and not this, thus I have to live the midwit life, but I suppose I just didn't know any better. So, /sci/, is there any shame in reading airport book store science books as a kid?

There is never shame in reading.
There is shame in believing everything you read.

There's far worse things you could have picked up at the airport.
