You're more likely to have anxiety or some other form of negative emotional response to the challenge
If it actually makes your brain hurt is go to the doctor ad it could be a physiological problem

For me math is hard to learn but easy to understand, once I understand the concept and put it into practice I pretty much get really good at it. But learning it to know what the fuck is going on makes me feel retarded many times, and probably because I'm a slow learner as well. For me I think understanding a concept can either take like 10 minutes, 4 hours or just get nothing at all.
