๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ ๐Ÿงต DO NOT let your children study psychology

>be fresh master of psychology
>before finishing my studies managed to get admitted to a prestigious psychoanalysis school
>also got a letter of recommendation from one of the leading psychologists in my country
>can't get a job
I'm an unemployed loser now. Just go to law or medicine or engineering. psychology is a trap

job?
Just open an online practice or rent an office. Everybody wants therapy these days and its impossible to meet demand

Yeah thats also what I have seen here in germany. Although I dont know how much demand there is in other niches. Psychology is such an ephemeral topic with many different opinions on the field. It doesnt help that its not a science in the classical sense. Id imagine it is one of the first things to be cut in a recession since it doesnt provide immediate material value. Arguably psychology is more on the luxury side of goods.

>can't get a job
You don't "get a job", you set up a private therapy practice where you feed antidepressants and adderall to children with shitty parents for $500 an hour plus pharma kickbacks.

Bro, you offer "counseling" services for 300 euros an hour to neurotic office workers and make bank. Your only mistake was thinking you actually need qualifications to do this.

anything that offers working models of the world counts as a science. Any areas of psychology that have been tested and match observations are science.
Staying on topic, what does psychology say about improving the wellbeing of troubled people?

What kind of jobs did you apply to? It's rare for any graduate, regardless of of what they studied, to get the job they went to school for right away. First one needs to build experience in the field starting in more supportive roles that require less education.

psychiatric hospitals and private clinics. I usually got a response on how are they impressed blablabla but their sitaution doesn't allow them to hire at the moment and sometimes asking if they can keep my CV. One of them even said she'd reccommend me to her friend but I didn't heard back from anyone. Tbh there's not that many job listings so I mostly just sent applications at random. Most listings are for kindergartens/schools but working there legally requires additional qualifications which I don't have

Have you considered social work, becoming a policy advisor or administrative assistant for a local government? Perhaps you can help with statistical research of some kind? Maybe you can at least write some articles for a relevant website to share your vision on the field of psychology to get your name out there? Did you get relevant or marketable work experience during your education like organizing events, managing finances, attracting sponsors and such?

You can not repeat psychological experiments. They offer insights but not to the degree of pure empiricism or logic.
